The parcel of land on which the Boulevard was built was owned by the Rutherfords, whose house on the corner of St. Clair and Delaware was razed to complete the construction of the Boulevard. Construction started in 1913 and was completed before 1930. This is no subdivision of today, each home is architecturally unique.
Young families, professionals, creative types, and GTA migrants love this area for its architectural diversity, broad streets with mature trees and quiet community feel.
Plenty of community activism is afoot, possibly initiated by the Sherman Hub, an area community newspaper.
Gage Park to the East and the Escarpment to the South gives the St. Clair neighbourhood a remote urban enclave feel while managing to be close to everything.
Real estate prices have bumped up, and 2018 finds the listing supply sparse. Entry level well close to the 450 mark, on the boulevard, expect to pay much more than that for something spectacular.
