The North End neighbourhood(bordered by the Hamilton Harbour/Wellington St N/CN tracks) is the perfect place to live if your ideal day includes a stroll (or bike/skate) along the waterfront.
The Pier 4 park and skating rink is a feature attraction for local families, offering roller skating in the warmer months and ice skating in the winter. And for history buffs, the HMCS Haida museum is docked in the harbour just at the end of Catharine St N.
This neighbourhood is full of history, many new immigrants in the late 19th/early 20th century made the North End of Hamilton their home. Populated by Irish, Scottish, Italian, Portuguese, and Eastern Europeans, the blue-collar unionized working class built their lives here.
Many amenities are available within walking distance, but for anything else, the area is serviced by the Bayfront bus and is only a quick ride away.
