Landsdale is one of those neighbourhoods on the cusp of the proverbial gentrification. Post-European immigration wave this area was predominantly Italian and Portuguese, later, in the 70’s, as families migrated to the Hamilton Mountain, Lansdale sort of lingered in limbo, most homes converted to rentals.
Affordability and proximity to amenities are putting a spark in Landsdale, homes are bought up, at reasonable prices and transitioning into nice primary residences. Good architecture, solid-bones brick homes, early 1900’s vintage, make renovating easy. The flanking commercial streets are picking up as well, Barton Street going through a revival and Main Street well on its way of becoming an urban hub. Entry level homes in the Landsdale neighbourhood can be as low as the high 200’s.
